This year I am running for the office of Smithtown Town Council
and if elected, you can count on me to work hard for our community.
I am an advocate for the SAFETY of our community, including the
pedestrians on Main Street and our children who walk to school. With your
support I will LEAD the efforts of our community to make Main Street a safe
place for pedestrians and businesses.
With your support I will initiate a town wide ENVIRONMENTAL
RESPONSIBILITY program throughout our parks and buildings. Smithtown needs to
LEAD by example when it comes to caring for our environment. To start, this can
be achieved through simple cost effective recycling containers at our sports
fields, inspiring everyone to be a part of the solution.
As I've worked and raised my 4 children in Smithtown, as well
volunteered in many different capacities over the past 14 years, I've shared
many joys and challenges along the way. I'm aware that there are a number of
issues that are daily concerns throughout our Smithtown communities and I'm here
to say - I will be YOUR advocate, YOUR spokesperson between the Town, State and
County Government. I will do it with integrity, transparency, always for the
community and the environment.
The future of Smithtown lies within our children and our
environment. How we take care of them both will keep our families and businesses
healthy for years to come. A healthy community will lead to a growing community!
With your support I know we can make a difference!
HOWARD KNISPEL for Town Council
Many
of you have known me for many years and some of you I have recently
met. We may have worked together on campaigns, you have heard me voice
my opinions and concerns at meetings and many may remember my previous
run for office as County Legislator a decade ago. I am a lifelong
Democrat and I support progressive causes.
I am now running for Town Council in Smithtown. There are two
positions up for election this year. I am running against two Republican
incumbents. I am doing this because I truly believe we need to change
directions in Smithtown. We, in Smithtown, have a “do nothing” Town
Council, who sit idly by while our downtown deteriorates. Why do we
let a hazardous Main Street exist in our town? Why do we have a Town
Council entirely made up of Republicans who live in Kings Park, St.
James and the Village of Smithtown? Where is the representation for
Commack, Hauppauge and Nesconset?
I will work for you, and represent your needs in the Town of Smithtown.
